About the Organization:

The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) includes 18 leading not-for-profit and provider-based health plans serving more than 12 million Americans in 19 states and the District of Columbia. These plans work with approximately 100,000 physicians in thousands of local communities across our nation. ACHP members have been meeting the needs of enrolled members for more than a half century.

The Alliance is dedicated to helping participating plans improve the health of their members and their communities. We promote the improvement in health care services of member plans by supporting activities which focus on the achievement of the highest standards of health care delivery.

ACHP originated HEDISĀ® (Health Employer Data Information Set)- today's most prominent and respected systems of measuring the effectiveness of health care plans. ACHP member plans routinely score among the highest in performance measures and national consumer ratings.

The independent, locally- managed Alliance health plans have historic missions to enhance quality. Relying on teams of multi- disciplinary health professionals, ACHP health plans develop active partnerships with physicians who are committed to meaningful quality improvement processes and measurement. Using proven best practices, scientific and evidence- based medicine becomes the foundation of clinical practice in our member health plans.
